The challenge
In a dispute, evidence is only as strong as its handling.
Digital evidence decides more cases than it used to, and loses more too. Data gathered without a defensible chain of custody, an opinion that overreaches, or an expert who cannot hold up under cross-examination can undo an otherwise sound position. When the technical facts are contested, the side with clearer, better-preserved evidence usually shapes the outcome.

Frequently asked
Questions I get asked.
Can you act as an independent or party-appointed expert?
Yes. I take instructions as a party-appointed or tribunal-appointed expert and, either way, the duty is to the court. The opinion follows the evidence.
What do you need to begin?
The questions in dispute and access to the relevant systems or data. Where evidence has already been handled, I assess whether its integrity can still be relied on before building on it.
Do you handle the forensics as well as the report?
Yes. Acquisition, preservation and analysis are done to a legal standard by the same person who reports and testifies, so the chain from device to opinion is unbroken.
Can you review the other side’s technical evidence?
Yes. I scrutinise opposing expert reports and technical claims, and identify where conclusions outrun what the evidence actually supports.
